Educational Opportunities
Externship
Externships at BVC are hands-on. We encourage students during their time here to participate in cases, appointments, help with physical exams, and ask questions every step along the way. We provide housing for you so you do not have to worry about where to stay. Externs are expected to be on-call part of their stay here, and are encouraged to be present for as many after hour calls as they would like to be. Normal dress code is jeans, large animal appropriate shoes, and work appropriate shirts (polo top, fishing shirt, scrub top, etc).
Internship
As an intern at BVC, you will be participating in cases with every doctor in order to gain insight on how different veterinarians handle cases. At the beginning of your internship, you will be helping with appointments and emergencies. As you become more comfortable throughout the year, you will be given more responsibility and able to see appointments and emergencies by yourself. At no point will you be alone, but we will encourage independence along the way. Housing will be provided.
